They completed the work quickly, cleaned up the area without any damage to the property. Everyone presented as professional, personable, and openly communicative even when there were a few rainy days that intervened. Originally, I was provided a quote to remove two trees, however, on the day of the service ZZ Tree allowed me to add an additional tree for a reasonable price. We are sharing our experience with ZZ Tree so that others can make an informed decision. We initially reached out regarding tree work at our property in Powhatan and provided a detailed video of the job. A representative later came out in person to review the work. Following that visit, we were sent an insurance certificate and a written agreement outlining the scope and price of the project, which we signed in good faith. After the agreement was in place, communication became inconsistent and the timeline was repeatedly delayed over several days. During that time, we had even referred them to another individual for work, which they completed. However, when it came time for our scheduled project, we were informed that the original quote had been incorrect, despite their prior in-person assessment and formal agreement. At that point, the company left the job without performing any work and did not return. We followed up to seek clarification on whether they intended to honor the agreement, but we did not receive a response. We have retained clear documentation of the agreement, communications, and materials provided throughout this process. Based on this experience, we would not recommend this company to anyone seeking honest work and reliable follow through. I originally reached out to ZZ Tree Service in February after a bad windstorm caused a tree to fall on my property. I needed emergency cleanup and removal, and they were incredibly responsive, able to come out the very next day and handle everything quickly and professionally. After that experience, I hired them again to prune several oak trees on my property. As someone who really values and cares about my trees, I couldn’t be happier with the results. The cuts were thoughtful, and the trees now look healthier and more balanced. Beyond the quality of the work, the customer service really stood out. Tracy made scheduling and payment seamless, and Zack took the time to walk me through exactly what needed attention on my property and why. You’ll be in great hands with ZZ Tree Service.
